In the event that your customers are no longer walking well, have small children in the household or simply have a higher level of safety awareness: create trust with the decisive factors when it comes to more safety in the bathroom! According to a study by the Robert-Koch-Institute, around 250,000 Germans are injured in the bathroom every year. It often affects the elderly and children.
E.C.A. Serel has 5 tips for you on how to reduce the risk of accidents in your customers' bathrooms.
handles
Grab bars are particularly important in the shower and bathtub and they provide security in the entire bathroom. It is also advantageous if the handles have a non-slip surface and are therefore ergonomically easy to grip.
tiles
Slip-resistant tiles are another key safety factor. Your customers can recognize such tiles by a special marking or distinction. The marking R10A can be used for a dry walking area in the bathroom, while at least R10B is needed for tiles that get wet to ensure slip resistance. Incidentally, floors with a higher proportion of joints have more hold thanks to smaller tiles. There is still a residual risk, as almost everyone can stumble when it is wet.
seating
In the past, it was wall-hung folding seats and small seating areas such as shower stools that ensured safety and comfort. If your customer is still in the planning phase of the bathroom, we recommend a walled-in and tiled seating place inside the shower and cupboard furniture that offers seating with a nice cushion.
floor-level showers
They are set as a safety factor in the bathroom, and floor-level showers are now considered a lifestyle object and are available in numerous shapes and surfaces, of course in "non-slip".
lighting
Sufficient brightness and sufficient light sources play a major role in terms of safety. The modern wellness-oasis is bright all around and should provide a safe light source for a safe path even at night by means of motion detectors.
Customers are always particularly grateful to their dealers for expert knowledge and the addition of safety aspects - and if the home wellness-oasis still looks wonderful - what more could your customer ask for?
