The toilet seat

Known in Germany as WC seat, toilet seat or “Klobrille” and in Austria also called “Klobrett”. The toilet seat was invented to make sitting on the toilet as comfortable as possible on the one hand and to avoid direct skin contact with the ceramic part of the toilet bowl on the other hand. Most toilet seats are made of plastic or painted wood, as these materials are lightweight, practical and hygienic. There are many differences in the design options, but they all have one thing in common: the lid.

Toilet sizes at a glance

The sizes of WC seats are not standardized in Germany. Over the years, four different WC sizes have become widespread around the world.

The seat form must also fit

There are two different seat forms of the ceramic, round or oval and square. Here it is important that the form of the toilet seat matches the dimensions of the toilet.

Round/Oval: Toilets with round or slightly oval opening belong to the most popular seat forms. This is the standard form of toilets and therefore the selection for round and oval toilet seats is also the largest.

Square: Toilets in a square form are often chosen in bathrooms with a clear design language and a modern interior. This is because square toilet seats exude a particularly modern look due to their straightforward and angular form. The square form of the seat melts into the ceramic, emphasizing the modern character of the bathroom. In combination with a square washbasin and a walk-in large shower, your stylish bathroom becomes a feel-good oasis.

The WC seat functions at a glance

Quick-release function: This function is particularly advantageous for cleaning the toilet. Toilet seats with this function can be removed and reattached without the use of tools.

Soft-close/automatic lowering: This innovative toilet function ensures that the toilet seat closes slowly even if it accidentally slips out of your hand.
